Lee County Cat Protection and Rescue
Lee County Cat Protection & Rescue (LCCPR) is the local branch of volunteer-driven, non-profit organization PAWS of SWVA. Our mission is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming at-risk cats while introducing sustainable community solutions to manage cat overpopulation throughout the county, fulfilling the clear county-wide need.

Phase 1: Establishment
The implementation of the Lee County Cat Protection & Rescue (LCCPR) will be completed in phases. Phase 1 will be the establishment as a local branch of PAWS of SWVA and will include:

Build foster-based rescue network
-
Prioritize kittens, pregnant, injured and sick cats
-
Major effort on Spay/Neuter (domestics, strays and ferals)
-
Launch adoption and transfer partnerships
-
Develop volunteer teams and outreach
-
Increase visibility, donations and memberships
In addition, Phase 1 will include the following funding and metrics:

Revenue: donations, memberships, sponsors, grants and events

Estimated budget: $29K-$35K annually

10-15 active volunteers
-
50+ casts assisted annually
-
30+ successful adoptions
Our Planned Services
Through a program of phased expansion and partnerships, we plan to establish the following:

Adoption Placement Services: Finding safe new homes for cats and kittens in partnership with animal rescue organizations.

Foster-based Rescue Network: Providing temporary, loving home environments for injured, sick, orphaned kittens, pregnant cats and friendly strays.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR): Humanely trapping and sterilizing community cats to stop overpopulation, disease and annoyance.

Barn Cat Placement Program: Rehoming independent semi-feral cats to local farms, stables and properties for natural pest control.

Low-Income Cat Assistance: Supplying emergency cat food, subsidized vaccination and subsidized spay/neuter support to families at time of need.
Need for Volunteers
We cannot build this safety net alone. Starting a volunteer network
like LCCPR needs lots of hands and hearts!
We are looking for:

Volunteer Care Givers: Provide hands-on care for cats and kittens

Clinic and Booking Coordinators: To help organize veterinary care appointments, arrange transport and arrange pick-up of stray or homeless cats

Cat Foster Care: Open your home as a temporary sanctuary for cats, litters or recovering and awaiting adoption
-
Transport Volunteers: Drive rescued cats to regional adoption hubs and local veterinary clinics
-
Food and Supplies Donations: Donate dry/wet cat and kitten food, cat litter, new feed bowls, litter boxes, carriers and cages
-
Financial Support: Help fund formation of LCCPR, help to support its running or by sponsoring treatments, spay/neuter, medical care, transport costs or adoption placements

General Voluntary Help: Organization, project management, promotion, fundraising events, PR, accounting....
The more volunteers the merrier and the easier it is for all to share the load and become successful.
